Rays/Bronx Bombers Preview

The Tampa Bay Rays travel to New York to play the Yankees in a 4game wrap around weekend series starting Friday night. And what a pitching matchup we have to get the series kicked off on Friday night. One of the best southpaws in baseball, CC Sabathia (5-3, 3.46) will be opposed by one of the best young pitching prospects in baseball, David Price (1-0, 3.00). Sabathia is 4-0 with a 2.08 ERA in his last 5 starts and he has not lost since May 2. Price is coming off his first win of the year over Minnesota. Price went 5 2/3 innings and struck out 11. The big question for the series is about Evan Longoria. Longoria tweaked a hamstring earlier in the week and hasn't played since. But, BJ Upton looks like he might finally have gotten going. Upton went 5 for 11 in helping finish the sweep over the Kansas City Royals today, including a game winning 2 run homerun in the bottom of the 8th today to propel the Rays to a 3-2 win and the sweep. It should be a great series...I think it will be a split.
