KC Royals Preview

Royals fans have been waiting awhile for a good season to come around. And while most have said that every season will be good, I think with some authority we can say this season will be great. They ended last September 18-8, and have made some big moves all around to bolster the team. The Royals picked up Coco Crisp and Mike Jacobs, adding great defense and power to the team. Opening day is almost upon us, so all we can do now is wait.

Best Player: This one is going to be tough, but Alex Gordon, I have a feeling, will step up and make the run for best player, with outstanding hitting and great defense at third base.

Best Pitcher: Zach Greinke. This kid can has been getting better and better since his comeback.

Pitching: This has to be the biggest question for the team right now (It almost seems like every year it is.) With Greinke and Gil Meche at the head, and off-season pick ups of Kyle Farnsworth and Juan Cruz, though, hopefully there will be more production and less runs given up. Oh and don't forget Joakim Soria. Hopefully the other teams will though....

Catching: With both Miguel Olivo and John Buck, there should be no question here, other than how many homeruns will Miguel Olivo hit this year.

Infield: Look for Mike Jacobs to be at 1st, and a surprise with Mark Teahen looking to pick up the job at 2nd. Mike Aviles will be closing the gap out at short too.

Outfield: Mentioned before was the acquisition of Coco Crisp from the Red Sox. Look for him to start out in Center, and the possible runner up for best player David DeJesus out in Left Field, with slugger Jose Guillen out in Right.

Other stuff: Billy Butler will be the D.H., and is also another player looking good at bat on the team.

Prediction: Does all the way count as a prediction? If not, then I'll go with Division champs.
